My mission was canceled this morning. The battlespace commander said it was because the air lanes would be too crowded for Medevac (impossible—Medevac has priority over everything). The real reason, I presume, was that a VIP is coming and shouldn’t be subjected to the potential realities of warfare.
Another leadership lesson: If you need to lie about it to your troops, perhaps you should rethink your decision.
